My brother just walked in the house with a gaggle of shady friends. There’s like seven of them in my garage smoking weed right now. I’ve got nothing against weed, it’s just shady as fuck. And Athena’s home. I’m about to leave her with her godfather so I can go to a doctor appointment, and I’m nervous about the company loitering in my garage. If I text my mom about it, it’ll be obvious that I ratted him out. Sigh.
There are seriously people who say that if a woman doesn’t want sex, she needs to look the guy about to harass her straight in the eye and say “No!” with a stern voice. Otherwise she isn’t being clear and the guy can take her resistance as playfulness.
This is a really dangerous mentally. This means that if a woman is so scared that she can’t get herself to stare into her soon-to-be-rapist in the eyes and says with a shaky voice that she wants him to stop, then the rapist can just continue on, because she wasn’t being “clear enough” and the harassment is therefore not his but her fault. This means that if you’re not a very confident person, people are allowed to rape you.So don’t say stuff like that. Every indication of resistance or unwillingness should be taken seriously. If someone disregards these signs, they’re at fault. If unsure, stop and ask.
